Happy 2014!

It is finally 2014 and the start of my new blog. I need a space where my followers can really keep up with me- I am more than my chosen career (granted I'm still searching for my first full time position since I've graduated).

2013 was the year I thought was going to be the best. I had some GREAT times but also some of my lowest lows. 2014 couldn't come at a better time.

I am a 24 year old trying to figure it all out- money, cooking, fashion, and anything and everything in between. So this is where it's all going to be. I've changed platforms and I'm ready for this new adventure.

So for 2014 I have created my #oneword. A word that I will live by this entire year. My resolution for the year, instead of a typical list it'll be just this one word.  My one word will be: me

Yes. You read that right. You might be thinking that sounds a bit selfish and not what a resolution should be...but hear me out.

I will start focusing on myself. My health, both physically and emotionally.
I will learn to say no.
I will treat myself to things that make me happy and celebrate my own successes.
I will stop comparing myself to others but still be here as a support to those who need it.
I will have fun.
I will try new things- food, adventures, dating.
I will save money and set myself up for a better financial future.
I will not give up on my dreams.

I will be me. The very best me I can be.

I'm excited to start this adventure with you and I hope you are too!!

As long as there was coffee in the world, how bad could things be?

I love coffee and I love visiting coffee shops even more. This past summer Scribbler's Coffee Company opened in my hometown and I couldn't be more obsessed with this cute little shop. I stop in for lunch or a score once a week and grab coffee to go a few more times (and I even have their Pumpkin Spice roast here at home).

Yesterday I took my mom who is NOT by any means a coffee drinker at all (it's weird because her parents are and her children are but her and my dad are not).

Although she didn't like my soy latte she didn't mind her caramel salted mocha!

My look for this Sunday adventure was relaxed. I wanted to be warm but not too bulky. A vest, plaid shirt, and some jeans is all you really need sometimes.

Shirt- American Eagle
Vest- Sears
Jeans- American Eagle
Boots- Lane Bryant
Ring- Great Grandmother's
Necklace- 3 strand pearl (vintage)
as always my kari necklace
